Florida has more beaches than you can imagine and in one vacation there is no way you can visit all these magnificent beaches. However, if you plan it right you might be able to squeeze in the top nine beaches in Florida.
The first beach on the list is Panama City Beach. The beach stretches across 27 miles of fine white sand bordering the Gulf of Mexico. All along the Panama City Beach, you will find all kinds of activities from swimming to parasailing, to the undeveloped and quiet area of St. Andrews State Recreation Area.
Daytona Beach comes in second in the best beaches in Florida. The pier is one of the most popular hangouts, which is one of the longest piers on the entire eastern coast of the United States. Popular nightclubs along the beach include Ocean Deck Beach Club and Razzle’s Nightclub. Daytona Beach is also a popular place for spring break!
Bahia Honda is a popular beach for snorkeling or just swimming. Bahia Honda State Park offers swimming in the Florida Bay along with the Atlantic Ocean. There are also various activities, which you can enjoy while visiting including kayaking, fishing, camping, bicycling, and tours.
Caladesi Island is the fourth beach on the list, which is an undeveloped island. The white sandy beaches beckon all visitors to enjoy the sand and the magnificent turquoise waters that gentle lap the shoreline. Many visitors also enjoy a hike in the forest after sunbathing.
Bathtub Florida Beach offers more than just a great place to swim. It has a small reef that was created by sand eating worms that really fascinates most that explore the reef by snorkeling. The shoreline is 100 feet long and gives you a wonderful tropical experience. While visiting take the kids to the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center.
Fort DeSoto can be found in the mouth of the Tampa Bay. Yes, it is a beautiful island and state park that offers more than just a quiet relaxing walk on the beach. Here your family can enjoy such amenities as camping, fishing, and kayaking. The entire island of course has surrounded with awesome beaches. However, only one area is designated for swimming with is the east coast beach that faces Tampa Bay.
Bowman’s Beach is home on Sanibel Island. This barrier island offers warm gulf waters and fine white sandy beaches. All along the beach, you will enjoy the tropical feel along with the beautiful scenery. While you are there be sure to visit the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum.
Caspersen Beach is home in Venice, Florida. This is one of the most natural beaches you will find in all of Florida. The entire beach is about 1 ½ miles of soft sand that is sure to please those toes. Enjoy swimming and searching for fossils along the shoreline, but watch out for turtle nests in May through July.
Crescent Beach can be found on the barrier island of Siesta Key just off the coast of Sarasota. The island is over 7 miles with a beautiful beach on the north shore where you can enjoy some wonderful snorkeling opportunities.
